Published by the Clark County Historical Association in 2021, this 116 pages collection of stories from Arkadelphia's Southern Standard newspaper have been selected not only for their significance but also for their general interest. Some are included due to their unusual nature. An attempt has been made to choose a wide variety of items to depict the full range of activity in Clark County during the years 1869 through 1880, a time of great change. All of the stories are local and illustrated with local advertisements. Unfortunately, the papers from the Standard's first year have not survived, so this volume begins with the earliest available edition and contains at least one item from all available papers during those years.
